House of Great Treasure Flagship Nominated for Design Anthology Readers’ Prize

House of Great Treasure is proud to announce that its flagship showroom in Causeway Bay has been nominated for the prestigious Design Anthology Readers’ Prize. This nomination recognizes the project’s bold reimagining of luxury retail as an immersive cultural experience, setting a new benchmark for design innovation in Asia.

At the core of the concept is a culinary theater that transforms the showroom into a dynamic stage for engagement. Rather than presenting premium kitchenware in static isolation, the space is choreographed around seven fully operational kitchen environments. These zones host curated dining events and live workshops, where professional chefs prepare and serve meals using the very appliances and fixtures on display. This approach dissolves the boundary between product and experience, positioning the showroom as both an avant‑garde gallery and an interactive lifestyle hub.

The design language emphasizes modern clarity and quiet luxury, while weaving warmth and tactility into the commercial footprint. Visitors are welcomed by a refined timber façade and bespoke door handles derived from the brand’s initials, “HG&T.” Inside, highlights include a sculptural marble staircase framed in mirror‑finished steel, a Pantone‑inspired feature wall showcasing material options, and mirrored ceiling panels that amplify natural daylight. Organic furniture and greenery soften the composition, creating a welcoming environment that encourages guests to envision these luxury elements within their own homes.

Collaborations enrich the narrative further. Designer Juliana Vasconcellos infused the private kitchen with organic textures and fluid lines inspired by Brazil and Hong Kong, while Italian platform Artemest contributed handmade furniture and décor. Community engagement was also central: a design competition invited local students to merge Brazilian and Hong Kong motifs into a tile mural, with the winning design by Henry Ho Fung now featured prominently in the private dining area.

Sustainability was embedded through practical measures. Smart lighting systems reduce energy consumption, durable natural stone and timber minimize wasteful remodeling cycles, and locally sourced materials streamline logistics while reducing transport emissions. The showroom’s location in Causeway Bay further encourages low‑impact commuting via MTR and bus networks.

This nomination underscores House of Great Treasure’s contribution to the evolution of hybrid space design in Asia. By merging retail, hospitality, and cultural programming into a single environment, the showroom demonstrates how luxury brands can foster deeper, experience‑driven engagement with a sophisticated audience.
