Born and raised in Los Angeles, Chef Leonard Cheung’s multi-cultural upbringing naturally shapes his inventive culinary and pastry creations today. Chef Leonard began his professional career in the pastry departments of Michelin starred restaurants in Hong Kong during his teenage years. This early experience propelled him to New York, where he graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and went on to refine his skills at reputable James Beard Award–winning restaurants across New York and South Carolina, alongside experience in three-Michelin-starred kitchens in Europe. In early 2021, Leonard opened Cultivate in Hong Kong, where he led a mission to dismantle outdated fine-dining clichés through seasonal, vegetable-forward creations rich in texture and contrast. Chef Leonard currently serves as Culinary Director for House of Great Treasure, where he brings authentic, world-class professional culinary experiences into Hong Kong’s premier luxury kitchen showroom, elevating high-end entertaining with signature flair and cross-cultural artistry.
